Our mission is ‘to build relationships with young people; to encourage them closer to a relationship with God.’ We witness to young people who come into Wellington on a Friday night and build relationships with these people, ultimately to share the love of Jesus with them. Our team is having a great time meeting a whole new range of people. It’s a win-win situation, we bless others and we in turn are blessed!
Everything we do, we do in faith. We are never sure of what is going to happen when we go out into the streets. But because we pray to God for the harvest before we go out, we believe in faith, that He has answered our prayers. So, when we are out there, it just becomes a matter of finding the harvest that God has set for us.
God is going something great in our city and in this nation and it’s a privilege to be part of it.
Operation Friendship
It is a hospitality and friendship programme for international students at tertiary institutions. The students come from many countries and are most non-Christian. Buddhists, Muslims, Hindu, Communist, no-faith Europeans, and Chinese are in the majority. They are eager to experience Kiwi hospitality and culture.
Christian families, singles, married with no kids, retired folk, all are welcome to be Friendship partners and we always need more. Students often come from large families and are very homesick. Some have left wives or husbands and children and can feel very alone.5905
What is involved?
- Loving and praying for your student. The Lord opens doors.
Include your student in family activities. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion. - Contact them regularly to see how they’re doing.
- Arrange for them to phone you at a specific time.
- Assist them with practical needs where appropriate
- Join in what some of the Operation Friendship activities and have fun.
You can make a difference in this world, without going overseas, by sharing God’s love with future international leaders that are studying here in NZ.

Prison Ministry
What’s it all about?
Prisoners are people whose lives have been interrupted, and are for a time open to receive love, hope and encouragement from anyone who will visit in their isolation. People from Elim International Church are involved in visiting prisoners as part of the overall chapel programmes.
The Aim
To serve the prisoners in their time of need; offering them encouragement; growth and reassurance of God’s hand on their lives.
Requirements
Visitors to prisons are subject to approval from the prison authorities. Security clearance usually takes around 2 weeks to obtain.
How can I be involved?
We are eager for more “freedom fighters” - intercessors, visitors, mentors, teachers, worship leaders, pen pals and encouragers. If you believe God maybe calling you to be involved, contact us:

Marriage Ministries International
Marriage Ministries International groups are led by couples that not only desire the best for their own marriages, but also have a heart to help others. Teaching is based on God’s principles for strong foundational marriages and couples who have good marriages learn to use their stability to reproduce life in others.
